   The Film List of July

Let’s get right into it, shall we

ICE AGE 3
+: Far superior to its predecessors in terms of technology and digital art.
-: Basically a rollercoaster of recycled ideas, where the only thrill is the introduction of Buck, my favorite character in the series so far. Dumbing the film’s comedy level down to below kiddie-friendly and giving Scrat, the series mascot, even more screentime, makes this one ride not worth the money. Steer clear.
SCORE: 3/10

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE
+: Dark and gritty, excellent use of camera and effects.
-: While the half-blood prince isn’t really one of the most exciting books you’ll ever read, changing several important factors is not a very clever idea. The director seems to have wanted the story to be more like he imagined, but it leaves open ends for viewers that have not read the book - which is what I recommend that you do before seeing the sixth addition to the Harry Potter film series. As a side note, I’d like to add that the acting is as bad as ever. And what’s up with all the love and stuff? Omg!
SCORE: 5/10

PUBLIC ENEMIES
+: An interesting crossover of modern filmatization and a classic story. It struck me later that there were little to none digital effects used. Superb acting…
-: …except for Johnny himself, as he seemed to be a little too… Depp-ish in this film. Also, Public Enemies was a tad boring in the long run. Dillinger’s life might not have been the best choice to make a film adaption of. They should most definitly have focused more on his fame instead of his infamity.
SCORE: 7.5/10
