‘Fred swallowed the remains in one big gulp, then slammed the cup back onto the table. Outside he could hear people running. People yelling. The place reeked of pain, fear and death. They all knew their last hours were closing in on them. Judgment day. The hour of reckoning. The last stand. Fred laughed, then turned to the sword that stood perfectly still against the wall beside him. “Well, my friend,” he said. “We’ve survived for this long. Looks like this’ll be our last fight together. It’s been one hell of a ride.” The sword was as silent as it always had been. Fred got up, bowed before the weapon, then grabbed it. They both exited the tavern.‘
War is coming to Azeroth.
Thank you for reading The Outcast. This is currently the longest story we have here. With almost three years in the making, The Outcast has been improved loads of times. The ending has been written a long time ago, and I’m eagerly awaiting the day we’ll connect the two parts and complete the story.
Although the story takes place in the world of Warcraft (best-selling game by Blizzard), the story itself is original. Also, several elements have been borrowed from other sources. For example, the book ‘Lord of the Clans’ helped me get into the mind of Thrall. He plays an important role later in the story.
The story takes place in an already made world, yes, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do what I want. Others would probably keep themselves within certain limits when writing fan fictions. I simply eqiupped my limit break skill, shattered the limit, and went with a good old ‘end of the world’ theme.
Do note that the war and fight for resources didn’t happen before four years after the second war in the real Warcraft storyline. Here it happens three years after due to certain… events. I’m not gonna spoil anything.
- Enjoy.
